Niina Majaniemi is an MBA-trained author, entrepreneur and keynote speaker recognised for her expertise in leadership, workplace wellbeing and emotional intelligence. With more than two decades of international business experience, she has become a leading voice on how empathy, accessibility and inclusion can directly improve organisational performance. Niina is particularly respected for transforming empathy from a theoretical concept into a measurable leadership capability that strengthens engagement, resilience and productivity. Her most defining achievement came through founding Microsoft Finland’s Accessibility V-Team, where she helped position accessibility and inclusive leadership as commercial strengths that drive innovation, customer value and long-term business growth.

Niina’s career began in customer-facing and operational roles across research, communications and manufacturing environments, giving her a broad understanding of how organisations function under pressure. Early experience in research and customer service developed her analytical mindset and deep curiosity about human behaviour, while later work within multinational businesses sharpened her commercial expertise and leadership perspective. She completed a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Administration before earning an MBA in International Business Management with honours, alongside formal studies in psychology. These experiences shaped her understanding of how stress, uncertainty and workplace culture affect both individual well-being and organisational success. As her career progressed, Niina moved into senior leadership positions, including Customer Success Account Manager at Microsoft, where she managed complex B2B relationships and supported sustainable customer growth and retention.

Alongside her corporate leadership career, Niina became a respected speaker and educator on workplace wellbeing, accessibility and emotional intelligence. As a Microsoft Evangelist, she delivered presentations internally and externally on customer experience, inclusion and leadership, sharing stages with senior figures, including Finland’s former President. She has contributed to peer-reviewed academic research, further strengthening her reputation as both a practitioner and thought leader. Niina also serves as a Partner of the Finnish Institute of Occupational Safety, where her workplace wellbeing training programmes are delivered through their national learning platform, helping organisations build healthier and more resilient workplace cultures.

Niina is hired as a mental health speaker because she addresses the human challenges many organisations avoid discussing openly. Her most sought-after keynote focuses on grief in the workplace, combining personal experience of loss with professional expertise as a Certified Workplace Wellbeing Developer. She explains how unaddressed grief and emotional strain impact engagement, retention and performance, while providing leaders with practical frameworks for creating compassionate and psychologically safe workplaces. Audiences value Niina for her ability to connect emotional intelligence with measurable business outcomes, showing organisations that empathy is not a weakness but a powerful driver of sustainable performance, resilience and long-term success.

Karim, Customer Success, Adobe

“What I really love about Niina’s book is that she clearly and eloquently sets out the business case for empathy and more empathy equals more profits, more innovation and higher productivity. Empathy is linked to action, it´s not sympathy which is feeling sorry for someone, and this book helps us understand the commercial gains of cultivating empathy at work.”

Belinda, Founder and CEO, The Empathy Business

“Working with Niina is exceptionally pleasant and seamless… Her sessions have received outstanding feedback and are regarded as highly illustrative and beneficial. Niina excels at translating the importance of empathy… into concrete examples.”
