Charlie Whyman is a business leader and mental health speaker whose career spans aviation, engineering, technology, healthcare and sport. Currently Managing Director of TGIS Aviation Ltd, she is also a respected keynote speaker known for addressing leadership, change and sustainable business growth. What distinguishes Charlie is not only the breadth of her experience, but the honesty with which she shares the personal challenges that sit behind professional success. Her work centres on courage, resilience and the psychological realities of leading in complex, high pressure environments.
Charlie began her career with an engineering background, entering industries where technical precision and accountability were paramount. Early on, she learned that success was rarely linear and often demanded adaptability, emotional intelligence and self belief. Alongside senior leadership roles, she explored entrepreneurship in diverse settings, including serving as Company Director of Sardinian Fine Foods, where she helped produce award-winning olive oil. These formative experiences taught her that progress comes from action rather than certainty, a lesson that would later shape her approach to leadership and wellbeing.
Over time, Charlie went on to lead and advise multi-million-pound businesses, becoming one of the youngest and few female Managing Directors in aviation. Working as Managing Director and Commercial Advisor for TGIS Aviation Ltd, she consistently challenged industry norms while navigating the pressures of male-dominated sectors. She also founded The Curious Marketing Club and Curious B2B Marketing, supporting clients to achieve commercial growth while addressing confidence, mindset and limiting beliefs. Beyond business, Charlie hosted The Curiosity Key podcast, facilitated LinkedInLocal Nottingham and held senior board positions with the Professional Speaking Association East Midlands, where she supported and mentored emerging and established speakers.
As a mental health speaker, Charlie brings exceptional credibility and relatability. A university dropout with no formal qualifications, she speaks candidly about fear, self doubt and the emotional weight of leadership. Her keynotes help audiences normalise vulnerability, reframe challenges and develop healthier relationships with pressure and performance. Charlie understands the impact of mental wellbeing on decision making, team dynamics and long term success, particularly within multigenerational, multicultural and neurodiverse teams. By combining lived experience with practical tools, she empowers leaders to move forward with clarity, compassion and courage in motion, making her a compelling and effective mental health speaker for today’s workplaces.
“Charlie was given the brief to come up with something marketers could actually use and she hit the nail on the head. Her practical frameworks were just the kind of thing our audience of marketers love. Charlie is a wonderful warm soul ready to offer value with no expectation of anything in return. She’s also a really nice person to hang out with which makes the whole experience of working with Charlie that much better!”
“Charlie has spoken on our weekly webinar a number of times now, she provides so much value, we just keep inviting her back! Our weekly webinars are attended by hundreds of accountants and their feedback is always really positive. Charlie’s presentation style is conversational and informative.
