Chris Britton is a leading mental health keynote speaker, best-selling author of ‘Behind the I’m Fine: The Truth About Modern Day Masculinity’, workplace appreciation expert and advocate for healthier conversations around men’s wellbeing. Drawing on his personal experience of post-natal depression, identity struggles and fatherhood, Chris speaks with honesty about the pressures many men feel to remain silent when they are struggling. His work explores purpose, grief, isolation, masculinity and emotional resilience, helping audiences understand why safe spaces, trusted role models and meaningful connection are essential to improving mental health. Through practical guidance and deeply personal storytelling, Chris encourages individuals and organisations to move beyond surface-level wellbeing initiatives and create cultures where people feel recognised, supported and able to speak openly.

Alongside his speaking career, Chris is the Group People Experience Director at one of the world’s largest technology companies, leading people experience across 44 countries and 12,000 employees. Since 2008, he has shaped people strategies for major organisations including Virgin, Vodafone, River Island and Reward Gateway. Chris has built his career around an empathy-first approach to leadership, using appreciation, belonging and human connection to improve engagement, retention and commercial performance. His experience working with global and multigenerational teams gives him a practical understanding of the pressures affecting modern employees, from loneliness and burnout to declining resilience and a lack of purpose.

Chris has been recognised on HR magazine’s Most Influential list for 2026, highlighting his progressive thinking on workplace culture, employee appreciation and the future of work. He is also a serving Special Constable with Sussex Police and a professional football referee, roles that have required calm judgement, emotional control and accountability in high-pressure situations. Drawing on more than a decade of frontline policing experience, Chris adapted the UK Police National Decision Model into his own Corporate Leadership Decision Model. This five-stage framework helps leaders make responsible decisions when time, information and certainty are limited, using practical tools such as the 70% Rule, the Front-Page Test and the Survivor’s Question.

As a keynote speaker, Chris delivers engaging sessions on men’s mental health, holistic wellbeing, workplace appreciation, belonging and decision-making under pressure. His presentations combine neuroscience, research, humour, lived experience and practical actions that audiences can apply immediately. Chris challenges employers to recognise the connection between mental health and business performance, while encouraging leaders to see employees as human beings rather than resources. Whether addressing senior executives, HR professionals, managers or wider teams, Chris creates space for meaningful reflection and honest discussion.
