Danielle Brown MBE is a trailblazing Paralympic gold medallist, accomplished author, and highly respected mental health and resilience speaker. As someone who has faced adversity from a young age, Danielle uses her powerful story to inspire audiences across the UK and beyond. Her talks blend elite sporting experience with real-world strategies to build resilience, overcome challenges, and foster a growth mindset. Known for her engaging delivery and authenticity, Danielle creates a lasting impact, particularly in schools, corporate settings, and leadership environments.
Diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome in her teens, Danielle began using a wheelchair and quickly turned to archery as a way to stay active and focused. Her incredible determination led to gold medals at both the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Paralympic Games, as well as a Commonwealth Games gold in 2010, where she made history as the first Paralympian to represent England in an able-bodied event. Alongside her sporting achievements, she earned a first-class law degree, proving that academic and athletic excellence can go hand in hand. Her journey from managing chronic pain to standing on podiums exemplifies her message: that mindset matters more than circumstances.
Since stepping back from professional sport following controversial reclassification in 2014, Danielle has become a passionate advocate for mental wellbeing and inclusion. She authored the award-winning children’s book ‘Run Like a Girl’, which won the Sunday Times Children’s Sports Book of the Year in 2022. As a keynote speaker, Danielle regularly delivers talks on resilience, high performance, self-belief, and navigating life’s setbacks. Her clients range from schools and universities to major companies looking to embed wellbeing and performance strategies into their culture.
Organisations hire Danielle because she brings authenticity, empathy, and lived experience to her speaking. Her story not only motivates but offers practical tools that audiences can apply in their own lives. Whether she’s addressing students or corporate leaders, Danielle connects through vulnerability and strength, showing that challenges don’t define us—how we respond to them does. Her reputation as a champion of resilience and inclusion continues to grow, making her a sought-after voice in the conversation around mental health and personal growth.
“Danielle is a true inspiration! Every part of her presentation was a reminder that ‘you can’ achieve anything you set out to do, even if barriers are put in your way. The comments from attendees highlighted how inspiring Danielle is and also the excitement of seeing two gold medals. Danielle is a true professional and I would love to work with her at future events.”
“Thank you so much for supporting us with our Olympic celebrations, especially with such short notice. You have been amazing and helped us find a fantastic athlete to bring our week of celebrations alive for the children. Please pass on our thanks to Danielle. She was absolutely fantastic and all the children were thoroughly engaged throughout her whole assembly. They learnt so much from her and she was very inspiring. The messages she shared with them have really seemed to stick with them and go in. The circuit classes were fantastic too with all classes taking part and supporting and cheering others on too. A massive thank you from all of us at Hazelbury Bryan Primary School.”
“We asked Danielle to provide an alternative view of leadership, teamwork and planning success following a restructuring. Danielle delivered a captivating talk, blending sporting analogies with references to our journey and introducing key strategies along the way. Her story landed well with the audience! Danielle was a pleasure to work with and is a very professional speaker.”
“Just a quick note to say Danielle’s session this morning was absolutely fantastic – have had some really positive comments from the business. She did a great job of telling her (very inspirational!) story whilst also weaving in additional key topics such as intersectionality and working in a sales-driven environment – really excellently presented and received.”
“Danielle Brown spoke at a high-profile launch event I organised recently and absolutely stole the show. A consummate professional throughout the pre-event run-up, her delivery on the day was flawless and – as expected – left the audience utterly inspired and enthused. I’ve simply loved working with her and am actively looking for opportunities to repeat the process soon – whether that’s through her brilliant public speaking or her bespoke mental coaching.”
“Danielle delivered a very powerful and inspiring message today and please pass along our thank you to her. Danielle was a wonderful presenter and no doubt her message resonated with our colleagues. We are hopeful the key messages will encourage our teams during challenging weeks ahead for our organization.”
“I just wanted to pass on how impressed all the children and staff were at Hartford Primary School with Danielle last Friday. She did different assemblies for the two different age groups, came out and got involved with our closing ceremony, gave out prizes, signed books and let children wear her medals. She was very humble and inspiring.”
