Emma Pears is a leading mental health speaker, bestselling author and leadership expert who is widely recognised for helping audiences reduce stress, build resilience and regain perspective in high-pressure environments. Known for her energetic delivery style and warm connection with audiences, Emma combines academic expertise, leadership insight and creative storytelling to deliver impactful talks on mental wellbeing and personal growth. As the Founding Director of Solomon Hunt and author of the acclaimed book ‘What Does It Matter?: Live with Less Stress and More Joy’, Emma has become a trusted voice for organisations seeking to support healthier, more balanced workplace cultures. Her ability to translate complex emotional challenges into practical and empowering strategies makes her a highly sought-after keynote speaker.
Emma’s early development was rooted in both education and the arts. She studied BA Hons Music at Anglia Ruskin University, specialising in composition, before gaining Qualified Teacher Status at Canterbury Christ Church University. Her growing interest in communication, learning and human behaviour later led her to complete an MPhil in Educational Research at the University of Cambridge, supported by a full ESRC Scholarship. These experiences laid the foundations for her work in leadership, coaching and mental wellbeing. Alongside her academic journey, Emma developed her resilience through personal challenges and creative performance, including her remarkable experience of completing the London Marathon on a broken leg, a story she now uses to illustrate the power of mindset and reflection.
As the Founding Director of Solomon Hunt, Emma has spent more than a decade designing leadership programmes, executive coaching initiatives and innovation training for organisations including HSBC UK, Salesforce, British Telecom, Santander, M&G Prudential, the Ministry of Justice and the London Fire Brigade. Alongside her corporate work, Emma has built an internationally recognised creative career as an award-winning songwriter, collaborating with Grammy Award-winning artists and having her music performed globally. She has appeared at prestigious venues including The O2 Arena, Wembley Arena and the Berlin Philharmonie, while also making live appearances on national television and Times Radio. Her debut book, What Does It Matter?: Live with Less Stress and More Joy, was recognised by HELLO! Magazine as one of the Best Motivational Self-Help Books of 2024 and 2025.
Emma is hired as a mental health speaker because she delivers practical, relatable and uplifting guidance that audiences can apply immediately. Drawing on leadership coaching, academic research and personal experience, she helps people challenge anxiety, quieten self-criticism and develop healthier perspectives on pressure and performance. Her central message encourages audiences to ask “What does it matter?” as a way of reframing stress and focusing on meaningful action. Combining humour, honesty and actionable tools, Emma empowers individuals and teams to take greater control of their mental wellbeing, build resilience and create more joyful, balanced lives.
“If you’re on the hunt for peace, to shush your inner critic and you want to stop sweating the small stuff, this book is the one you need to pick up. It will change your life forever if you do the work that’s required… It’s the ultimate book teaching us what we know deep down, that life is for living and not stressing.”
“I cannot praise Emma’s reliability, integrity, honesty and creativity enough. The energy she brings into a room is engaging, warm, endearing and fun, whilst coming at things through a commercial and collaborative lens.”
“Emma has consistently brought high energy, empathy and relevant insight that has provoked people to think differently about change, delivery and prioritisation, both personally and for an organisation. Challenging conversations brought to life with disarming humour when it’s needed most. Thank you!”
