Iain Ward is a renowned mental health speaker and cancer research fundraiser whose story of resilience has inspired audiences around the world. He is regularly invited to speak at conferences, corporate events, and health summits, not only for his powerful personal story but for the way he connects physical health, mental strength, and purpose. Diagnosed with terminal brain cancer at 31, Iain responded not with despair, but with a mission to make every moment count – a mission that has seen him raise hundreds of thousands for cancer research and amass a vast following on social media. Organisers hire him not just to share his journey, but to challenge perspectives on adversity, purpose, and the power of mindset.

Iain’s journey into advocacy began in 2019 when he volunteered for a clinical trial, motivated by curiosity and a desire to earn some additional income. He was then working as a fitness instructor and content creator, with no symptoms or cause for concern. The trial unexpectedly revealed a brain tumour, later diagnosed as Stage 3 cancer. His life changed overnight. Just after his 31st birthday, he underwent successful awake brain surgery. Rather than retreating, Iain resolved to push forward – not only in pursuit of recovery, but to live meaningfully, raise awareness, and support research into the very disease threatening his life.

Since then, Iain has achieved extraordinary milestones. In 2023, he completed several of the world’s most prestigious marathons, including Boston, Berlin, and London, all while raising funds and awareness. That same year, major brands such as MyProtein and VivoBarefoot came on board to sponsor his efforts. By 2024, he was recognised with TikTok’s ‘Voice of Change’ Award and appeared as a guest on the global “Let’s Talk Cancer” podcast. In 2025, Iain surpassed £375,000 in corporate fundraising for cancer research and was featured as a headline speaker at the World Cancer Congress. His online presence exploded, reaching over six million followers on Instagram and five million on TikTok – making him one of the most influential voices in health and resilience.

Event organisers choose Iain because his message is real, urgent, and deeply human. He doesn’t just speak about mental health – he embodies it. Through humour, honesty, and hard-earned perspective, Iain inspires audiences to rethink what’s possible in the face of overwhelming odds.

“Iain’s presentation ‘CANcer not CANTcer – The King of Chemo on Breaking Fundraising World Records’ at the World Cancer Congress was one participants will remember. His message of resilience, hope and courage resonated with everyone in the room.”

“Iain was brilliant at Relay for Life at UCD. We were truly moved by Iain travelling to Dublin to come to our event for a start, and blown away by his enthusiasm when he was there. He went above and beyond, coming to our opening ceremony in the morning, helping us with other activities for the event during the day and of course, his fitness class was a huge success. His session was full of energy and easy to follow (even if it wasn’t the easiest to do!) and enjoyed by everyone. We deeply appreciated him talking at our closing ceremony the following day as well. He really helped celebrate our fundraisers and help us all to appreciate the impact this money will have. We are so grateful to have had Iain involved in our event.”
