Jamie McAnsh is an award-winning adventurer, entrepreneur and motivational speaker whose story of resilience and determination has inspired audiences across the world. Having lived with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) since 2014, Jamie has redefined what it means to overcome adversity. He was the first person with CRPS to reach Mount Everest Base Camp on crutches, the first person with bilateral CRPS to summit Mount Kilimanjaro, and the first disabled player to compete in the Welsh Open Squash Tournament. A natural communicator with a powerful message about perseverance, inclusion and mental health, Jamie is widely sought after as a keynote speaker for organisations looking to inspire courage, adaptability and positive change.

Before becoming a celebrated advocate for disability awareness and diversity, Jamie’s career spanned a variety of industries. He began his working life in the British Army, later taking on roles in security, retail and customer service. His experience as a funeral director and union representative shaped his empathy and understanding of people, while his time as a sales executive and business owner developed his entrepreneurial drive. In 2014, Jamie’s life changed dramatically when he woke up paralysed due to CRPS. Instead of allowing this to define him, he channelled his energy into rebuilding his life, founding See No Bounds, a social enterprise dedicated to connection, inclusion and opportunity.

Since then, Jamie’s achievements have been nothing short of extraordinary. He has completed 12 extreme challenges in 12 months, raising £250,000 for charity, represented Wales in wheelchair rugby, hand cycled 100 miles in just 13 hours and became the first wheelchair user to complete the 30k WAAT4 Challenge across the Brecon Beacons. His courage and innovation have earned him numerous accolades, including the UK’s first Charles Holland “Against All Odds” Award, the Brave Briton Award and the WAAT4 Greatest Achievement Award. In 2021, he delivered his acclaimed TEDx Talk, “Get Back Up“, and in 2025 was accepted as a council member for the Forbes DEI and HR Council, recognising his leadership in promoting diversity and inclusion.

Jamie is hired as a speaker not only for his incredible story but for his authenticity, humour and insight. His talks on resilience, goal setting and mental health encourage audiences to see challenges as opportunities for growth. Through his lived experience, Jamie offers a rare combination of inspiration and practicality, empowering individuals and organisations alike to push beyond limitations and build a culture of strength, empathy and inclusion.

“Our professional learning day went incredibly well, and we are really grateful to have had Jamie as our guest speaker on the day – feedback so far from staff has been very positive. It has been a pleasure working with you throughout the organisation of our event.”

Trish, Leadership Administrator & Professional Learning Coordinator, Minster Trust for Education

“Wanted to say thank you for organising and for Chris recommending Jamie – he was the perfect choice for our away day. He had such an amazing story to share and has achieved some pretty incredible things. I believe one of my colleagues is planning on getting in touch to do a talk to our mental health network as his journey has been extraordinary”

Jo, EDF Energy

“I speak for the management team of 60 colleagues when I say the session delivered by James was moving, inspiring, encouraging and motivating all rolled into one.  I am pleased we chose James and I would happily recommend him to others depending on the requirements of their audience.”

Glen, Whinfell Forest

“Jamie is an amazing person and performer. On stage and beyond, he is likeable, relatable, engaging and enthralling. His personal journey draws you in and enables him to share valuable lessons. As the (almost) opening act of a 3-day meeting on resilience and ambition in the face of adversity, he certainly energized the room. What was even more fascinating to see is the amount of side conversations he had with our team. My only remark, which I also made to him, is making the lessons, the take aways, more obvious and impactful, with text on slides, because not everyone remembers things the same way. Hearing and seeing work well together to create lasting memories.”
