Featured Speaker: Dr Alex George – The UK’s Mental Health Ambassador
Dr Alex George stole the nation’s heart on Love Island, but it is his current campaigning for better mental health support that has made the biggest impact. Since being appointed Ambassador for Mental Health in February 2021, he has held powerful discussions with the UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, on what the Government can do to support the public’s emotional wellbeing.
An empowering mental health speaker, Dr Alex educates audiences on the importance of mental health, as well as how to care for their own and other people’s wellbeing. This topic is especially important in the workplace, where the high-pressure, fast-paced environment can increase employee’s stress.

As Covid-19 restrictions relaxed in the summer, pubs and bars were allowed to reopen. To ensure the public knew exactly how to enjoy the sunshine safely, we partnered with the Cabinet Office for a social media and press campaign featuring Dr Alex. In his video, he showed viewers the dos and don’ts of our “new normal”, alongside pub owner Merlin Griffiths.
Sky
Theme: International Men’s Day

Mental health has been described as the secret killer among men, as it is one of the leading causes of death for the male population, especially those aged 18 to 45. In response to such an epidemic, we booked Dr Alex for a guest speaking role at Sky’s International Men’s Day event.
As part of the line-up, he discussed why men are less likely to talk about their mental health and the value of open discussion on the road to recovery.
